SKU: RGWA-KNGSVSHIM

On a 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 / 3.5 / 4.0 King Shock, for example if you have #8/#12 stamped into it, would mean that you have #8 compression and #12 rebound. Occasionally, when you pull your shock apart, you might find a few shims that aren't all the same thickness because King has installed custom valving inside your shock. The thicker your valving shims are, the slower your shock will react. The thinner your valving shims are, the faster your shock will react.

Will also fit Sway-A-Way 3.0/4.0 shocks that have a 5/8" stem top. However King Shocks and Sway-A-Way RaceRunner shocks use different materials on their valving shim stacks.

  • Rebound Valving:
Are the shims on top of the piston. These shim stacks govern how fast the shock expands out to full extension.
  • Compression Valving:
Are the shims below the piston. These shim stacks govern how fast the shock compresses.
  • #8 = All shims should be 0.008" thick = fast shock movement
  • #10 = All shims should be 0.010" thick
  • #12 = All shims should be 0.012" thick
  • #15 = All shims should be 0.015" thick
  • #20 = All shims should be 0.020" thick = slow shock movement
